Data questions
For methodology, indicator definitions and CFTC data questions — check the FAQ below first.
When is the data updated?
Every Friday after the CFTC releases the weekly Commitments of Traders report, typically between 15:30 and 16:00 ET. Data for the week ending Tuesday is published with a 3-day lag.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
The free dashboard gives you access to raw CFTC positioning data (net positions, OI, operator breakdown) across all 23 markets. Pro unlocks the 3D scoring indicators (Bias, Pressure, Conviction, Signal, Grade and Pattern), 6 proprietary charts per asset, Trade Ideas, Trading Validator, Central Bank Monitor, Economic Calendar and institutional COT Analysis.
What markets are covered?
23 markets: 8 FX pairs (EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, AUD, CAD, NZD, USD), Bitcoin, 5 Metals (Gold, Silver, Copper, Platinum, Palladium), 2 Energy (Crude WTI, Natural Gas), 3 Grains (Corn, Soybeans, Wheat) and 4 Softs (Coffee, Sugar, Cocoa, Cotton).
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your account settings — no questions asked. Your Pro access remains active until the end of the billing period.
Is this financial advice?
No. Datalyx provides data analysis tools based on publicly available CFTC reports. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any instrument. Trading involves risk of loss.
Where does the data come from?
Directly from the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) Disaggregated Commitments of Traders report, the official US regulatory filing for futures positioning. The raw data is free and public — Datalyx structures, scores and contextualises it.
